Well, the first bi-annual Twin Cities SharePoint Camp has been a rousing success.
We had over 140 attendees and 22 Sessions representing some of the best and brightest minds in the area on SharePoint. The weather for the event was a pristine sunny day, and the turnout for this event was phenomenal.
We did have 24 presentations scheduled, which means two sessions that were scheduled did not occur. We had one illness that prevented a workflow session (“The Wonders of Workflows”) from happening. Jason Ruby contacted us in advance of this absence, and his organization New Horizons of Minnesota went above and beyond by adding a special SharePoint Camp attendees only class at a 50% discount on July 9-11*)
On the Other Hand, we did have one presenter absence Jerry Sevier of ILM Professional Services, whose presentation was on Web Content Management. I can only apologize on his behalf for this occurrence.
I enjoyed meeting many new individuals and seeing many others again at this event. Every attendee received a great days worth of information on SharePoint, and a very nice Inaugural Twin Cities SharePoint Camp Baseball Cap, sure to be a collector’s item.
I would once again like to personally thank all those who helped to make this event happen, our presenters, volunteers, and sponsors: Microsoft, New Horizons of Minnesota, Magenic, RBA Consulting, Inetium, Sogeti USA, CDW Corporation, Digital Concourse, et al . Without your efforts this event would not have been possible.
Look for the Twin Cities SharePoint Camp v.2 coming in the November/January timeframe!
*) 50% discount available to all SharePoint Camp attendees who register for Jason's SharePoint Designer: Workflow and Data Connectivity class on July 9-11, 2008.
